Lucknow is situated in Uttar Pradesh, it is a famous city of North India.
Lucknow an age –old charm city based on the bank of river Gomti is the capital for the state of Uttar Pradesh of India. It is also called the “City of Nawab”. The city dates back to the time of Suryavanshi Dynasty, the city also served as the capital for the Nawab of Awadh. The era of Nawab gifted Lucknow courteous culture and mouthwatering delicacies along with literature, music art and craft. Tabla and Sitar were born in the street of Lucknow. Lucknow has given birth to many literature and music personalities.
The history of Lucknow can be traced back to the Suryavanshi Dynasty. According to the mythology it is believed that the brother of Lakshman of Ramayan laid the stone to the city, and it was called Lakshmanpur then. But it came into notice only in 18th century, and the city flourished under Mughal Dynasty. And later British recovered the city. And after independence it was made capital for the state of Uttar Pradesh by the Government of India. Now, recently the state divided into another part as Uttarakhand with capital Dehradun. And rest part of U.P. remained with its capital Lucknow.
The culture of Lucknow is still very alive and retains its old world charm. Among the most common languages of Lucknow is Hindi, which is spoken all over India. The people of Lucknow are among the warmest and the most courteous people in India. The traditional food of Lucknow was highly patronized by the Mughals thus giving it a very royal touch.Music and dance in Lucknow has been much influenced by the Mughal rule India.
Bara Imambara: The Bara Imambara was built in the year 1784 by the fourth Nawab of Awadh known as Asaf-ud-Daula. It was built as a part of a relief project for a major famine that took place in the year 1784.
Jama Masjid: In the year 1423, Sultan Ahmed Shah constructed the Jama Masjid in Lucknow. It is built entirely with yellow sandstone and is known for its intricate style of design and architecture.
Rumi Darwaza: The Rumi Darwaza of Lucknow is one of the most impressive architectural structures in India. It was constructed in the year 1784 by Nawab Asaf-ud-daula.
Hussainabad Imambara: The Hussainabad Imambara is a major tourist attraction of Lucknow. The monument was built by Mohammed Ali Shah in the year 1837. The tombs of Mohammed Ali Shah and his mother are located over here.
The main shopping area of Lucknow are Alambagh, Hazratganj, Chowk, Sadar Bazar and Kaiser Bagh. The famous and prestigious mall of the city is Sahara Mall.
Lucknow is very foody in itself. Its also famous for for its Mughal flavour.

By Road: You can reach the city by road also. You can use private transport or common transport to enter the city. The city is well connected by road with major Highway connecting to all part of nation.
Train: You can reach by train also. The major junction of Lucknow is Charbagh Railway Station. It connects to every part of nation.
Autorickshaw and Rickshaw: Autorickshaw and rickshaw are available in the city to travel from one point to another. You can use it as these are the cheapest mode of local travel.
Taxi: The best and comfortable way to travel in the city is taxi, you can book it at the negotiable amount, it also saves your time and save from sunlight.
Minibus: There are minibuses on some fixed routes. You can explore the point of interest in the city on the minibus also.
