Hemis Monastery: Hemis is the largest as well as richest of the central Ladakh Monasteries. It was founde in 1630 by King Sengge Namgyal.

Matho Monastery: The only monastery in Ladakh of the Sakyapa sect. It was built in early 16th century and continues to attract many new entrants.

The Monastic Dance – Dramas of Ladakh: The dance drama performed at Ladakh’s annual monastery festivals are popular events, constituting a link between popular and esoteric Buddhism.

Foods and Shopping guide of Ladakh

The area isn’t very into fooding and shopping. You can eat into the places found around are in some known restaurant of the town.  As for shopping is concerned you can buy some soveneir in the local market around.
