Jammu is situated in Jammu and Kashmir, it is a famous city of North India.
Jammu is located on bluff of the Shivalik Range, overlooking the northern plains. It is also called the winter capital of Jammu And Kashmir State. Jammu is also the base for pilgrimage to the Vaishnodevi.The main site of attraction is Amar Mahal, which is a museum now displaying the region’s culture and history.
Decorated with beautiful temple in the city, Jammu is also called the city of temple. It is said that it was founded by raja Jamboo Lochan in 14th century BC. Today the temple of Mahakali located in the Bahufort is considered second only to Mata Vaishno Devi in terms of mystical power.The present temple was made in 1822 after the coronation of Maharaj Gulab Singh.The existing fort, as well as the Manasabdar’s palace inside it, was constructed in 1820.
The Jammu has mix culture of Hindu and Muslim in peaceful environment. People are very humble and peace loving. In the city you can find both the structures of Hindu as well as Muslim, like temple and mosque. Other communities like sikh and other are also relevant there.
Vaishnodevi: Vaishnodevi is a pilgrimage to the Holy Shrine of Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji one of the holiest pilgrim centre. The holy cave of mother is situated at an altitude of 5200ft above sea level.
Mansar Lake: The beautiful lake is situated 62 km from Jammu. Holy dip in Mansar lake is assumed to be purifying the sins.
Raghunath Temple: The magnificent temple complex set in the heart of thecity is one of the most important and the largest shrines of the northern India. its construction was started in1835, by maharaja Gulab Singh, the founder of Jammu and Kashmir kingdom.and was completed by his son Maharaja Ranbir singh in 1860. The complex consists of 17 temples and the main shrine is dedicated to lord Raghunath(Rama)
Gole Market: This locality is famous for modern shopping including electronics, garments, footwear and other modern accessories.
Raghunath Baazar: Situated in the heart of city it is also famous among tourist for shopping.
Barfi and sund punjeere are very famous eatery of Jammu, there are also some very famous eating point in cities, you will know reaching in city. Preference of the city is into non- veg a lot.

By Air: Srinagar, Jammu and Leh are the three airports in Jammu & Kashmir. Major airlines like Indian Airlines, Jet Airways operate regular flights to and from these airports.
By Rail: The major railway station is Jammu Tawi, from where several important trains connect the state with the rest of the country.
By Road: Jammu & Kashmir is well-connected by a vast network of roads to important cities like Delhi, Amritsar, Ambala, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Pathankot, Shimla and Manali.
Autorickshaw and Rickshaw: autorickshaw and rickshaw are available in the city to travel from one point to another.
Jeep: The best way to travel in the city is jeep, you can book it for the amount of INR200/- to INR400/-.
Minibus: There are minibuses on some fixed routes. You can explore the point of interest in the city on the minibus also.
