About Jaipur Tourism

Jaipur the city capital of Rajasthan, India. It is very famous torist attraction as it form the part of  Golden Triangle. It was founded by Raja Sawai Jai Singh II in seventeenth century. It is also known by the name of Pink City of India. It is 260 km from Delhi. History of Jaipur

Jaipur is among the youngest cities of india founded in 17th century. It was founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II, the ruler of Kachchawaha Royal family among leading ruler of Rajasthan. Jai Singh himself indulging into battle, politics, and learning showed passion for astronomy. As a result the design of Jantar Mantar the largest stone observatory in the world along with four others including the one in Delhi was made by him.  Jaipur was the Rajput’s first city to place mercantile above military considerations. Today with population of 2.5 million Jaipr is state’s most advanced   commercial and business centre.

By Air:
Sanganer airport is nearest airport (11km) from Jaipur. It is well connected to all major cities of India.

By Rail:
Jaipur railway station is the main station of Rajasthan. Trains from all over India connect to Jaipur. And there are some special trains from Delhi like Palace on Wheels which cover all major tourist destination of Rajasthan.

By Road:
Jaipur, the pink city of India is connected to all major destination by Road.

Travelling in Jaipur

Radio Taxi: These are also one of mode of transport available in city. These are a bit expensive and offer the convenience of fixed, metered rates and are comfortable to travel.

Auto-rickshaw: Jaipur is very busy and crowded during rush hours because of Metro projects running on. Auto-rickshaws are available all over the city. Its prices are high in comparision to cycle rickshaws.

Fares: Must check their fare sheet before getting on.

Cycle rickshaws: It is one of the chepest mode of transports in India. Though, it takes time to get you anywhere in the traffic but it is best way to take a ride where small lanes are located and other mode of transportation can not reach to there. One should fix the prices first before getting on.
