About Darjeeling Tourism

Darjeeling is a small  town in heart of Himalayas located in West Bengal. The history of Darjeeling is related with Bengal , Sikkim and Nepal. History of Darjeeling

The history of Darjeeling dates back to 19th century. Till 19th century Darjeeling was partially into Nepal and Kingdom of Sikkim. In late nineteen century British took over the state and after  independence it was the part of India in the state of Bengal.

Culture of Darjeeling

Building of colonial architecture can be seen in the city, made in British Rule. The city has mix culture of Nepal, India and Tibet. People are very fond of playing musical instrument and singing. By Road: Regular bus service is from Siliguri to Darjeeling. And buses from around other cities also operate to the city.

Autorickshaw & Rickshaw: Autorickshaw and rickshaw are easily available modes to travel within city. Fares are also reasonable.

Taxi: Taxi is the comfortable mode to travel in city. It is a bit costly than rickshaw and autorickshaw but it saves your time and you can reach to any part of city within few minutes.
