Alwar is a city of Rajasthan 140 km from Jaipur. It lies on the way to Delhi. Bustling town of Alwar sprawls across a valley beneath one of eastern Rajasthan’s larger and more impressive forts. History of Alwar

Alwar’s strategic position on the Rajput border resulted in incessant warfare from the tenth to the seventeenth century between the Jats of Bharatpur and the Kachchwahas of Amber. Mughals were defeated by the Rajputs in early centuries, and the state was ruleed by the Rajputs for the centuries.

Bala Quila: You can enjoy the beautiful view of the city riding high  on Bala Quila. Its open 10-17 hr Monday to Friday. Its free of charge to roam the quila.

Sariska Tiger Reserve: Alwar is the access point of Sariska Tiger Reserve and National Park. Its open daily whole year except Monsoon season. It is managed by Project Tiger since 1979.

Siliserh Palace: This palace is located 15 km south of Alwar. It was built in1845 by Maharaja Vijay Singh. The palace now houses the RTDC lake Palace Hotel .

How to reach Alwar

By Train: Railway station is located on the east side of town. Trains to Delhi, Agra, Jaipur is available from the station.You have to book the ticket in advance for the comfortable journey.

By Bus: Bus stand is located on the west of Alwar. Regularly buses are available for Delhi and Jaipur.

Autorickshaw & Rickshaw: Autorickshaw and rickshaw are easily available modes to travel within city. Fares are also reasonable.

Taxi: Taxi is the comfortable mode to travel in city. It is a bit costly than rickshaw and autorickshaw but it saves your time and you can reach to any part of city within few minutes.
